Assalāmuʿalaykum—warm greetings, and thank you for visiting my website.
I’m an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
My research focuses on Pulsed Eddy Current (PEC) non-destructive testing (NDT), electromagnetic sensor design, and machine learning for infrastructure inspection.
Here you’ll find my research projects, publications, teaching activities, and opportunities to collaborate. I welcome students, fellow researchers, and industry partners to connect and explore impactful work together.
A bit about my background: I was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and earned my B.Eng. (Hons) and Ph.D. in Electronics from the University of Huddersfield, UK. Before academia, I spent eight years in R&D in the UK automotive industry, gaining hands-on experience in applied engineering and product development.
I’m a Professional Engineer (Ir.) with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the UK Engineering Council. I’ve authored 60+ journal and conference papers, and in 2025 I was listed among the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Elsevier and Stanford University.
